Cendan has served since 2022 as dean of the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine and senior vice president for health affairs at Florida International University, where he leads medical education, research, and patient care initiatives. A tenured professor of surgical sciences, he has established major clinical affiliations with Baptist Health and Nicklaus Children’s to expand training and research and address physician workforce needs.
